1. Arrival and Registration
Upon arrival at Haikou Meilan Airport, please proceed to BFA AC 2007 Reception Centre located at the ground floor of airport lobby for registration. Please present your identification documents or the “Confirmation Letter” issued by the Secretariat of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) to the Reception Centre. The reception staff will assist you in obtaining conference badges and other information and you will be safely transported to your hotels.

Delegates and journalists, arriving without complete documents, will be taken to the temporary Badge Office for registration and badges in the Peilan staff dormitory, located near the Peilan Bridge of Dongyu Island, Boao.
For those who will arrive in Sanya Airport, please inform BFA Secretariat in advance so that the badges could be ready for you at the temporary Badge Office. Please note that there will be no reception at Sanya Airport and you shall find your own transportation from Sanya to Boao.

3. BFA Secretariat
The BFA Secretariat will provide all necessary information related to the conference and deal with all financial arrangement including air ticket reimbursement. In addition, it will be responsible for distribution of conference documents, speech transcripts, biographies of speakers and information about conference sponsors. (To support environmental protection efforts, BFA AC 2007 will endeavor to reduce the production of documents. Only limited quantity of documents will be circulated at the conference venue and delegates can get access to all documents at www.boaoforum.org in Internet Cafés located in the first floor of International Convention Centre.) You can also obtain documents at the Documentary Room of BFA Secretariat.

6. Lenovo Internet Café
An Internet Café is set up at the west of lobby of 1st floor of the International Convention Centre by Lenovo Group. Delegates/Journalists can get access to internet where they can visit official website of BFA and view conference documents.
7. Free UPS Shipping for All Delegates
UPS has set up a shipping desk specially for BOAO delegates during the Forum at the lobby of the Sofitel Hotel. Each delegate can enjoy a single shipment (maximum 4kg) to an international or domestic destination complimentary of UPS. For operating time, kindly refer to below. Please present your delegate badge together with your item. For international shipments, please bring along your passport for customs declaration.

8. Starbucks Cafés
Starbucks will serve coffee to all delegates, journalists and staffs at the first floor of International Convention Centre, Press Lounge in the first floor of Sofitel Hotel and the Press Centre in Kempinski Hotel. You are welcome to enjoy a cup of Starbucks coffee.
9. Transportation
Transportation will be arranged for all delegates and journalists between Haikou Meilan Airport and hotels. Shuttle buses will be provided for delegates, journalists, and staffs between hotels and the International Convention Centre and for all conference events that need transportation. Shuttle schedules will be posted on the transportation notice board in hotel lobbies. Badges are requested for using the shuttle services. Transportation services can also be obtained from hotels for private purposes by contacting hotel reception desk or concierge with charges.
Please make reservation with hotel reception desk at least half a day ahead while hotel-airport shuttle bus needed.

10. Meals and Banquets
Breakfast: Delegates will have their breakfast at their hotels. Breakfast is included in the room rate.
Lunch: On Apr. 21 and 22, luncheon sessions will be held at BFA Ballroom C&D, Level 1, BFA International Convention Centre and served meals will be provided for all delegates. Non-delegates, accompanying persons, spouses and other working staff can have lunch at all restaurants of hotels at their own expenses.
Dinner:
On Apr. 20, BFA invites all delegates and their spouses to the Welcome Cocktail and Welcome Dinner hosted by The People's Government of Hainan Province at BFA Mail Hall, Level 2, BFA International Convention Centre.
On Apr. 21, Boao Forum for Asia Charity Party and Fireworks at Swimming Pool Area, Golden Coast Hot Spring Hotel is open to all delegates, spouses, journalists and staff of sponsors.
On Apr. 22, Farewell Dinner hosted by BFA at River Ranch Restaurant, Sofitel Hotel is open to all delegates, spouses, journalists and staff of sponsors .

11. Working Languages of the Conference
Simultaneous interpretation will be available in Chinese (channel 1) and English (channel 2) during all sessions.
12. Badges
Badges should be worn at all times during conference activities and related events. No access will be permitted to all conference venues without badge. It is also required for meals and shuttle services. Information of lost and damage of badges must be immediately reported to the Conference Information Centre.
13. Dress Code
Business attire is required for all meetings and banquets.
BFA T-Shirts or other casual attire is suggested for outdoor activities.

The area code of Hainan Province is 0898. Domestic and international long distance services are available in all hotel rooms, but deposits are required (to be paid at hotel reception desk) to use such services.
Prepaid SIM cards for mobile phones (GSM and CDMA) are sold at the business centre of each hotel (only cash in Chinese currency (RMB) is accepted).
18. Departure Time for the Airport
The hotels are located at 1.5 hours' drive from Haikou Meilan International Airport. Please check out at the hotel three hours prior to your flights departure time. Information about transport to the airport is also provided on the notice board at the Information Centre.
19. Weather
Boao has a tropical climate. The temperature during the time of the Conference is within the comfortable range between 25 Celsius and 35 Celsius.(Weather Forecast for BFA AC 2007)
20. Currency
The local currency is the Chinese Renminbi ( RMB or ¥). The Chinese RMB is pegged to the US dollar at a rate about US$1=RMB 7.76. The exchange rates are decided depending on exchange rate of that day issued by the Peoples' Bank of China. Currency and travellers' cheques can be converted into RMB in the hotels. Credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted by all hotels.

The voltage in China is 220v. Sockets in the hotel rooms are of 2-phase and 3-phase (MY-2204) types.
A Brief Introduction to Hainan Province
Located at the southernmost tip of China, Hainan Province comprises the island of Hainan and its adjacent islets. It covers an area of 35,300 square kilometers with a population of 8.36 million. Haikou is the capital city. The Li, Miao and Hui people are aboriginal minorities in Hainan. With a population of over 1.2 million, the Li is the most populous ethnic minority. Hainan has a tropical and maritime monsoon climate. Its annual average temperature is between 22℃ to 26℃ and precipitation 1,500 to 2,000 mm. In 2006, the province's GDP stood at RMB 105.243 billion, an increase of 12.5% over the previous year, and its per capita GDP was RMB 12650, an increase of 11.3% over the previous year.
Hainan, positioned in the centre of the Asia-Pacific economic rim and on the major international marine routes in South China Sea, is one of the three major home provinces of overseas Chinese. Hainan has a coastline of 1,528 kilometers and 68 natural harbors. The province is endowed with abundant natural resources and 55.6% forest coverage. Hainan is among the places with the richest subregion bio-diversity and a major production base of tropical cash crops, tropical fruits and season-reversed vegetables in China. Hainan also owns considerable maritime fishery resources. It has proven reserves of 67 mineral resources and rich oil and natural gas resources.
Hainan Province has beautiful natural landscape and is one of the seven most famous tourism destinations in China. Hainan was designated as China's first ecological demonstration province in 1999. Both its green coverage rate and per capita public green area are higher than the national average. Haikou was entitled the "National Model City of Environmental Protection" and “Selected City of Chinese History and Culture”. Sanya was entitled the "Top Tourist City of China" and the "National Garden City". In 2006, inbound tourists were 16.05 million person times in Hainan, up 5.8% over 2005, among which inbound overseas tourists were 616,900, up 42.83%.
Hainan Province is well developed in land, maritime and air transportation. Besides the round-the-island highway network, Hainan has Yuehai Railroad which links Hainan and the mainland. Hainan has opened 24 harbors and 16 deep water berths for ships at and above 10,000 tons. Hainan's annual cargo throughput stood at 37.1 million tons. Haikou Meilan International Airport has become one of the eight largest air terminals in China.
Hainan's exchanges with the outside world become increasingly frequent. So far it has established friendly ties with 16 foreign provinces and states including the State of Hawaii in the United States. Haikou City and Sanya City have established sister relations with six cities respectively in the world.
About Boao
Located on the east coast of Qionghai City, Hainan Province, Boao is centered at a latitude of 19.3o north and a longitude of 110.5o east. Facing the South China Sea on the east, Boao lies 17km to the east of Qionghai City's Jiaji Town, 105km to the south of the provincial capital, Haikou City, and 200km to the north of the famous resort Sanya City.
Renowned for its beautiful scenery, Boao is situated on the estuary of the famous Wanquan River. Here the Wanquan, Jiuqu and Longgun rivers converge into the South China Sea and are met by three islands: Dongyu, Shapo and Yuanyang.
